Daily Summary
- Today we arrived at the school at 9 a.m. and we were greeted by the children and their teacher Seño Luisa. We started off the day by helping the teacher to put on all the childrens over coats and they all sat on the floor for their english lesson, which was naming objects, colours and numbers that were on cards. I was then asked to help the 3 year olds with writing and drawing straight lines. The children then had their break and when they came back we were asked to help them with their workbooks, they had an hour and a half lesson and finally got some free play for 20mins before we cleaned up and washed their hands for dinner.
Learning & Positive Aspects of the Day
I am learning a bit more Spanish and also getting to see how different the teaching methods are in comparison to Ireland.
Challenges Encountered
Today I found it difficult as we were left with the children for a short period of time and one of the children started to cry and I found it very hard as I couldn’t understand him when he was trying to tell me what was wrong.
Self-Evaluation
As each day goes on im getting more comfortable and confident, and I am trying to use more Spanish with the children and staff.
