Daily Summary
Today, I visited those working in the business administration disciplines. This involved visits 3 different locations, Hotel Carlos V, Hotel Molinos and Nest Flats, five leaners were encompassed on these visits. The first stop was to Hotel Carlos V where Tracey and Sharon are placed, their internship will centre around, room bookings, processing payments and compiling statistical reports. Next, onto Hotel Molinos, where the two Nicoles are placed. Their role is the front reception, they will be performing checking in duties, payments, and dealing with customer queries. The last visit was to Patrick who is working in Nest Flats, he will be working in the front office, with the key goal for the week ahead, to create a slideshow for the business to use for online marketing.
Learning & Positive Aspects of the Day
It was positive to see all learners engaging with their internships, and embracing the different cultural aspects. Seeing behind the scenes workings of hotels was interesting. All learners have a schedule of work, which the businesses need to be complimented for.
Challenges Encountered
The language barrier is difficult in some workplace settings.
Cultural
Our cultural visit for the day was to a traditional Spanish flamenco (flamingo) show.
