My research and practical on line work yesterday has given me a good initial grounding in Blended Learning Technology. Some initial findings:-
Benefits of Blended Learning include:-
1. INCREASED LEARNER ENGAGEMENT
Online learning gives students opportunities to engage with the material, complete assignments, presentations, or tests before moving on to the remaining portion of a course.
2. EVALUATIONS
It can be time-consuming to evaluate students in a classroom SETTING. Blended Learning can create evaluations online, to make the grading and tracking process simpler.
3. EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION
Blended Learning improves communication with students. Not only can you still communicate face-to-face, but you can also have (automatic) email notifications as well as built-in bulletins for the student to see as they log in.
4. FLEXIBLE ACCESSIBILITY
Being online allows you to be available and make materials accessible anywhere, anytime.
5. COLLABORATION
Blended Learning promotes collaboration with both online and offline teamwork opportunities.
6. LEARNER NEEDS
Blended Learning can better meet student’s individual needs.
7. EFFICIENCY
Loading up lessons correctly, learners can watch lectures and read any necessary assignments in their own time, making room for discussions or Q/A during class time.
8. DATA MANAGEMENT
One of the greatest benefits is data tracking and reporting. Blended Learnng systems have the ability to track each step the learner takes throughout the course, including logins, time tracking and grading.
