Daily Summary
Today I had an introduction day for my work placement, at Hotel Carlos V, where I was introduced to the manager and staff. I was given a list of my work hours, dress code and an outline of the duties I would be expected to carry over the two weeks.
At 4 clock we went on a guided tour around Granada city. We then had free time for the rest of the day, where we got to try out some local cuisine.
Learning & Positive Aspects of the Day
The positve aspects were definitely how friendly the manager and staff were to me. I felt relaxed and positive that I that I could do well here. They were really looking forward to me starting with them and showing me the ropes.
Challenges Encountered
The language barrier will be my biggest challenge. Though I was pleasantly surprised that they spoke slower than I thought they would and I understood more than I thought I would
Self-Evaluation
Overall very pleased with my placement area, and I’m confident I will learn a lot. The Spanish lessons really stood to me today.
Cultural
The buildings are outstanding, I can’t wait to go sightseeing I love the detailed ground works. The local cuisine is devine.
